cake and champagne0 comments Sofia Coppola's Marie Anotinette is better than cake. I love how she uses her own youth from the 80's to liven the backdrop of Marie's 18th century adolescence. Everything from high school-like drama to the first ventures of staying out late, she ignites beautifully to film. Discreetly, she mirrors college life when Marie moves to her personal chateau/palace in the country. She becomes an intellect, and appreciates the natural world...she even has pink hair. Sofia and Kristin are both awesome. The film lets the appetizing visuals do the work. With over 50 costume changes, Coppola let it be known that Marie was the "it" girl of the century. The Strokes are on the soundtrack, enough said. Oh and I've watched it over a billion times. The Strokes-What Ever Happened le loup0 commentsall the howling animals! le loup means the wolf in french..grrrr. the band has said that their song le loup(fear not) is not supposed to make any sense but rather be a replica of the half-spoken, half-imagined thoughts that make up the vernacular you have with yourself. J'aime Le Loup. photographs: le loup album cover, unknown
